Thirty Saudi establishments are undergoing in-depth assessment by the Saudi Export Development Authority "Saudi Exports" to measure their export readiness, analyze their current status and potential improvement opportunities and qualify them to enter the export market and get their products to international markets at a competitive level that reflects the quality, position and diversity of Saudi products.

A number of field visits and focus sessions were conducted for these companies, to then be provided with a detailed report including an analysis of the establishment status, identification of its weaknesses and improvement opportunities as well as a set of recommendations for raising its export readiness. The sectors of the evaluated companies varied to cover the most important sectors targeted in the national export strategy such as: chemicals & polymers, food products, pharmaceuticals and building materials from Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.

These companies were selected for the pilot phase of the "In-Depth Assessment" project, one important projects to raise the level of export knowledge of Saudi enterprises and develop their capacities to raise their export readiness according to the best international practices, as part of the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Saudi Vision 2030. The project is expected to be officially launched early next year.

Earlier this year, H.E. Mr. Saleh Al-Solami, Secretary-General of "Saudi Exports", has launched three export promotion initiatives, namely: building export capacities, promoting Saudi products and advocating the export ecosystem efficiency, all part of the 116 initiatives of the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources within the National Transformation Program 2020.

These initiatives contribute to the achievement of three strategic objectives related to non-oil exports that were identified in the National Transformation Program in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, being to increase non-oil exports, to develop export capacities, infrastructure and procedures and to boost market access and marketing in targeted markets.

It is worth mentioning that "Saudi Exports" employs all its capabilities towards Advocating export ecosystem efficiency; building export capacities; promoting exporters and their products; encouraging Saudi products and boosting their competitive quality in order to help them access international markets in a way that reflects the position of the Saudi product and serve as a tributary to the national economy. The work of "Saudi Exports" comes as a translation of the Saudi Vision 2030 and a response to the aspirations of the wise leadership towards diversifying the sources of income of the national economy.
