Import Summary Report Turkey

• Turkey has the 17th largest GDP in the World (2015). It is among the top nations with maximum number of ports, and sea route facilities. Non-oil imports of Turkey constituted more than 94% of its total imports of 2015, which has declined at an average rate of 4% since 2011. The top four non-oil industries imported by value Heavy Machinery & Electronics, Building Materials, Chemicals & Polymers and Food Product. Saudi Arabia, at present occupies a marginal share of 1% in Turkey’s non-oil imports. The Kingdom prominently supplies Chemical & Polymers to Turkey, which constitute close to 40% of the total imports of Turkey. This report looks into Turkey’s non-oil imports in the last five years vis-à-vis the Kingdom’s share in it. It also outlines the import potentials of the Kingdom in certain industries such as Heavy Machinery & Electronics, Building Materials, Chemicals & Polymer and Food Products.
