Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Riyadh 16/02/2020
Saudi Export Development Authority "SAUDI EXPORTS" is participating in the 25th edition of the Gulf Food Industrial Exhibition, "Gulfood", held in Dubai from 16 to 20 February 2020. This participation aims to enhance local industries and open new export channels for Saudi companies in regional and international markets, and to complement the role through which "SAUDI EXPORTS" seeks to promote Saudi products and services and increase their market shares in global markets, in order to enhance the contribution of the foodstuff sector to the GDP.
The number of companies participating under the umbrella of the Saudi pavilion organized by "SAUDI EXPORTS" in the exhibition this year is 53 national companies specialized in the field of food. The Saudi pavilion at the exhibition was also inaugurated by the ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United Arab Emirates, Turki bin Abdullah Al-Dakhil, who was briefed on the pavilion and all the participating Saudi companies and the various national products.
The participation of "SAUDI EXPORTS" in the "Gulfood" exhibition for the sixth time in a row is a reflection of the importance of the foodstuff sector, as the foodstuff sector is one of the most important sectors of non-oil exports. In addition, the "Gulfood" exhibition is distinguished by being a huge annual event in the food sector, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. As a result of the great growth in this sector, promising commercial opportunities abound for companies knowing that about 100 thousand from about 200 countries are expected to attend the fair this year.
SAUDI EXPORTS continues its efforts to support exporters and promote their products and services to expand in international markets, in a way that translates the Kingdom's vision 2030 and its objectives seeking to increase the proportion of non-oil exports from 16% to 50% of the total value of GDP, in order to meet the aspirations of the leadership towards diversification sources of income for the national economy.
